Officials at the Santa Clarita Valley Interim University Center at College of the Canyons have announced that a single-subject teaching credential program will be offered in the fall through Cal State University Northridge. The credential program prepares individuals to become middle and high school teachers.

An information session is scheduled 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 2, at the Interim University Center on the COC campus. Representatives from Cal State Northridge and COC’s TEACH program will be available to answer questions at the meeting.

Candidates for the credential program are required to have a bachelor’s degree and course work in the subject they plan to teach. The credentials will be offered in the following programs: art, business, English, foreign language, health science, home economics, math, music, physical education, science and social sciences.
