College Seeks Manager for New $15 Million Performing Arts Center
SANTA CLARITA With the grand-opening season nearly solidified for its new $15-million Performing Arts Center, College of the Canyons is now looking for an experienced theater manager to operate the center.
"The opening season is nearly complete, and audiences will be receiving an announcement shortly on purchasing tickets, season packages and lots more," said Dean of Communications Sue Bozman. "But we still need a theater manager who will handle the day-to-day operations of this fantastic, brand-new facility."
College of the Canyons recently posted a job description on its Web site detailing the requirements for the position, which include two years of professional experience; knowledge of operations including audio, lighting and house systems; an understanding of booking acts and developing audience-relevant seasons; and strong leaderships skills.
"This is really a fantastic opportunity for the right candidate," said Bozman. "Not only will this person assist in the development of college students embarking in careers in the performing arts, but they will also help shape the tone of the Santa Clarita Valley by booking and bringing in outside professional acts for a very diverse audience."
