Comedians of Canyons Unscripted at College of the Canyons
Some of the best defining moments for an actor are rooted in improvisation, which requires quick thinking and being “in the moment.” On September 30, Comedians of the Canyons, the College of the Canyons improv group, will create an unscripted show based on audience suggestions.
“Every show is completely different and unpredictable,” said Allan Trautman, a professional actor with dozens of television and movie credits who is the course’s instructor and the show’s host and director. “Our last show was packed with a very enthusiastic crowd, and we expect this first performance of the semester to be a unique treat.”
Composed of students enrolled in the college’s advanced improvisational performance theatre class, the improv group will perform at 8 p.m. in Pico Canyon Hall, Room 202 on the Valencia campus.
“These improvisational performances are terrific opportunities for our students to test the performance skills learned from Allan in the improvisational classroom,” said Paul Wickline, chair of the college’s theatre department. “Audiences have grown significantly over the last year as the word has gotten out about how much fun these shows are.”
The show is free and open to the public. Seating is limited.
