Ribbon-Cutting Event for New Early Childhood Education Center

Event: A ribbon cutting ceremony for a 2,150-square-foot Center for Early Childhood Education on the College of the Canyons Canyon Country campus.
The facility includes two fully-furnished classrooms, age-appropriate restrooms, a kitchen and observation areas to be utilized by parents and students majoring in early childhood education at College of the Canyons.
Featuring a learning environment and preschool program structured around the state’s recommended preschool learning foundations, the center provides children with a variety of creative materials needed to stimulate learning and social interaction, and curriculum designed to develop and support language arts, math/science, dramatic play, music, movement, social/emotional and creativity skills.
Speaking at the ceremony will be Joan MacGregor, president of the College of the Canyons Board of Trustees; Dr. Dena Maloney, founding dean of the Canyon Country campus; Diane Stewart, dean of early childhood education and training programs at College of the Canyons; and Dr. Dianne G. Van Hook, chancellor of College of the Canyons.
