Electronics for Kids Class Offered by Community Extension
College of the Canyons Community Extension Office is offering a class for children ages 10 to 15 that will introduce them to the world of electronics. They will begin by learning the basic components of electronics such as resistors, capacitors and inductors. They will learn how to solder and will build series and parallel circuits on a test board.
The class will be held from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on two Saturdays, Oct. 25 and Nov. 1. The course is taught by David Retig, associate professor of electronics at East Los Angeles College. Retig is a former senior research assistant in the aerospace industry and has been teaching electronics to children for 14 years.
The fee for this class is $40, plus a $15 materials fee and a $3 non-refundable processing fee. Advance registration is recommended. To get additional information or to register, call the College of the Canyons Community Extension Office at (661) 362-3304.
This is one of the many fee-based, self-supporting educational opportunities offered by College of the Canyons Community Extension and is not associated with the taxpayer-supported, for-credit classes offered by the college.
