17th Annual Holiday Arts & Crafts Fair Slated
College of the Canyons is holding its 17th annual Holiday Arts & Crafts Fair on Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 20 and 21, 2004. The event, which is a fund-raiser for the classified staff of the college, will be held in College of the Canyons parking lot #8 at the corner of Valencia Boulevard and Rockwell Canyon Road. Hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday. Admission and parking are free.
The fair is a showcase of primarily handcrafted items and is sponsored by the Colleges Classified Coordinating Council (CCC).
A wide variety of handcrafted items include: clothing, ceramics, candles, angels, jewelry, dolls, floral arrangements, Victoriana, wood yard decor, childrens items, country crafts, tole painting, as well as home, garden and holiday decor. Doreen Adams will be on hand with her unique, hand-painted china and wood. Gordon Brunks always-popular , whimsical , outdoor whirligigs will also be featured. Among new vendors are Susan Pavik who will be selling her signature, jewel-tone, hand-crocheted stoles, and Chris Welke with his hand-thrown and painted ceramic pots.
The college's Associated Student Government will be running a bake sale during the event.
The COC Holiday Arts & Crafts Fair is an opportunity to find unique, lovingly crafted items for keeping or giving. Most vendors will be taking special and custom orders. Window shoppers are welcome since these talented artists love to share their creativity, hobbies and labor with others.
