College Bands to Perform Traditional Holiday Music
" 'Tis the season to be jolly" and to help usher in the Christmas season, the College of the Canyons Symphonic Band and Jazz Ensemble will feature traditional holiday music in its Holiday Concert at 8 p.m. on Friday Dec. 9 at the Vital Express Center for the Performing Arts.
Describing a recent performance by the group, Carol Kaye, a professional musician, writer and educator of famous bassists said, "The band is great! The horns and saxes were so great and swinging so hard, they made the show!"
COC students Chad Brown and Kathleen Silvers, and adjunct professors Dr. Gloria Kim and Dirk Fischer will be guest conductors at the event.
The band will be playing songs such as, "Deck the Halls," "Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer," "Do you hear what I hear?" and "Up on the Roof Top."
