Providence Holy Cross Signs On to Support K-12 Arts Outreach
Providence Holy Cross Medical Center has entered into a partnership with the Santa Clarita Performing Arts Center (PAC) at College of the Canyons to provide sponsorship and support of the PAC’s ongoing K-12 Arts Education Outreach Program.
Providence Health & Services is a nonprofit Catholic organization dedicated to quality, compassionate care for all, and a continued investment in the communities it serves. Through this new partnership, Providence will help sustain the PAC’s K-12 Arts Education Outreach Program, which is expected to reach more than 12,000 local students in the coming year alone.
“Providence Holy Cross is proud to sponsor this outreach program. So many of our employees live in the Santa Clarita Valley, and their children will benefit from this,” said Larry Bowe, chief executive of Providence Holy Cross Medical Center. “It's important to us as health-care providers to help ensure young people are exposed to the arts, an essential part of a well-rounded healthy lifestyle.”
The PAC K-12 Arts Education Outreach Program uses College of the Canyons’ cultural and community resources to provide SCV students an opportunity to benefit from top-tier visual and performing arts curriculum and learning opportunities. Since its inception the K-12 Arts Outreach Program has taken a collaborative approach, with PAC organizers partnering with teachers and administrators in school districts throughout the SCV in order to reach as many students as possible. As a result, the program continues to provide arts-infused curriculum and unique educational opportunities for students throughout the SCV.
“It’s because of community support like this that the PAC K-12 Arts Education Outreach Program has been able to thrive,” said Adam Philipson, PAC managing director. “Providence Holy Cross Medical Center deserves a special thanks for helping to make this program so successful.”
