The College of the Canyons Cougar Strength department and fitness company TRX Training have teamed up to give community members an opportunity to give back this holiday season, while getting a great workout at the same time.
COC strength and conditioning coach Robert dos Remedios and a team of TRX fitness instructors will host a hands-on workout session and community toy drive from noon to 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 9, in college parking lot 5, adjacent to the East P.E. building on the COC Valencia campus.
By bringing a new, unwrapped toy (valued at $10 or more) attendees will be invited to workout with “Coach Dos” using an assortment of TRX provided fitness products and suspension training equipment, including the TRX, TRX rip trainers, kettlebells, battling ropes and much more,
“We’ll have lots of equipment and plenty of elite fitness coaches on hand to help guide participants through some intense metabolic mayhem,” said Coach Dos Remedios.
All participants will also be entered to win a variety of great raffle prizes. However, by bringing two unopened toys to the event participants will be entered to win a TRX fitness system valued at $189.
All collected toys will be donated to the Boys & Girls Club of Santa Clarita Valley.
