Organization Description
The Friends of Castaic
Lake (FOCL) are a group of dedicated volunteers who continue to make a positive
impact on the Castaic Lake Recreation Area. Formed in 1983 as a nonprofit group
with the mission to support and enhance the operation of the County of Los
Angeles' largest regional park, the FOCL conduct fundraisers and special events
to support park programs and projects.
Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteers will help
assist the lake staff with local events and projects to maintain the
integrity of the lake and its habitat.
Friends of
the Santa Clara river is a non-profit, public interest organization with
a mission to protect and restore the ecological integrity and biological
diversity of Southern California's 1600 square mile Santa Clara river
watershed.
Volunteer Opportunities
Students
can help with advocacy, support, outreach, and education.
The
foundation is dedicated to providing free dental care, emergency
services, and oral hygiene education to low income children and families
in the Santa Clarita Valley.
Meaningful Duties
Assist with
dental screenings; give oral health education presentations at local
elementary schools; clerical support in the office.
