Gang prevention
center. Individual counseling, group counseling, conflict resolution,
recreational activity, tutoring/homework assistance, mentoring,
parenting classes, clubs (reading, chess, sailing).
Meaningful Duties
One on One mentoring,
one on one tutoring, homework assistance, recreational activity, coach
or assistants (basketball, football, dance, softball, etc.). Enrichment
"coaches" (drama, photography, cooking, etc.). Counseling
interns, reception work, general supervision/observation. (Any activity
a student may want to teach - chess, ping-pong, etc.)
Hours of Operation
Mon-Thu, 4:00pm - 6:30pm

40; ideally 2 days per week for
7 - 8 weeks minimum

Junior Achievement provides economic and business education to youth, grades kindergarten through twelfth.
Meaningful Duties
Students can volunteer to teach JA curriculum to kindergarten through
6th grade while supervised by a certified teacher; however, students
must attend a one hour orientation to receive training before being
placed.
