Volunteer Requirements |
All volunteers must attend a training and orientation
session per year (will be notified of upcoming sessions after
application is received). One background check every 3 years (cost
$27.95). Complete 3 wishes per year. Sign a yearly conflict of interest.

Volunteer Responsibilities |
Understand accountability of volunteers to salaried staff,
maintain a cooperative working relationship and stay within the bounds of
volunteer authority and responsibility; complete
assignments promptly, reliably and professionally; notify staff in a
timely manner if you are unable to meet a commitment as planned; ask
questions about things you do not understand; accept the guidance and
direction of staff and/or volunteer mentors; respect and tactfully
interact with wish families, staff and other volunteers; no more than 3
wishes at one time |

Comments |
The responsibilities of the volunteer will be divided between
assisting the teacher with classroom preparation and working 1:1 with primary
students in need of reading or math support. The placements will be in
Kindergarten - Second grade. There will also be a few placements with our
Physical Education teacher assisting grades K-5. School hours are 8:10am-2pm.
Please email Michelle Vasquez with your specific hours of availability, include
the time and day as well as the total number of hours you will be required to
complete for your project. You may drop by room #6 after 2:15pm to have your
paperwork signed.

include your name and College of the Canyons Service-Learning student in the
subject line. Although you might receive a mailer demon your email will still
appear in the teachers box so it is important to identify yourself so the
teacher can identify you as a student from COC.
