The SCVEDC has been in existence
since the summer of 2010; there is currently 31‐member Board of
Directors, including a 15 member Executive Committee which meets
monthly. The fulltime staff includes the President/CEO, Business
Retention & Marketing Manager, Administrative Services/Special Events
Manager and Business Attraction Manager (part time.
Student volunteers will be
exposed to SCV community leaders when tasked with working at Special
Events. Work may be sporadic, depending on activities/programs that are

SCOPE has service learning opportunities
for students interested in environmental and conservation issues as they
apply to the Santa Clarita Valley. Volunteers will learn about the Santa
Clara River and other conservation efforts underway locally. Service
projects will be designed around the student's environmental interests
and address a local conservation issue or public review process. This
service project will be of special interest to biology students,
environmental science students, government, English and geography
students as well as those that have an interest in the environment
generally.
