ONLINE TUTORING
Online tutoring is available for students enrolled in English
classes at College of the Canyons
Students
must agree to the following before a tutor will look at an
essay:

Must be enrolled at
College of the Canyons |
 |
Must agree to be enrolled
in NC.BCSK 094, supervised tutoring* |
 |
Must provide link to
assignment or attach copy of assignment |
 |
Must have made an attempt
to work through assignment |
 |
Must ask specific
questions or address specific problems for tutor
|
 |
Must allow for 48 hour
turn around. Online tutoring is not live;
therefore, you will not receive an immediate response
|
 |
Must not submit a paper
the day it is due |
 |
Must not be a prewritten
midterm or final exam |
Online
tutors will do the following:

Help limit and focus
ideas |
 |
Help organize or
reorganize ideas into a logical order |
 |
Explain major grammatical
errors and allow students to correct those errors

Online
tutors will not do the following:
 |
Give students their own
email addresses |
 |
Line edit a student’s
paper |
 |
Discuss or predict a
grade of a paper |
 |
Provide specific topics
or ideas for a paper |
 |
Proofread |
Please
