WELCOME

Welcome to the Upward Bound website. You have made a wise decision to seek admission to the Upward Bound Program. Your interest in Upward Bound means that you would like to attend college after you graduate from high school. Graduation from high school and college are significant accomplishments for you, your family and your community.  Upward Bound can help you with your academic work, assist you in gaining college admissions, and prepare you for a successful future.

With special thanks to the Department of Education for their 2012-17 support in the annual amount of $250,000, Upward Bound provides fundamental support to low income, first-generation college bound high school students. The program provides opportunities for participants to succeed in their pre-college performance and ultimately in their higher education pursuits.

The goal of Upward Bound is to increase the rate at which participants complete secondary education and enroll in and graduate from post-secondary education institutions.  Services we provide include a six week Summer Academy at College of the Canyons and Golden Valley High School, mentoring and tutoring, academic and career advisement, cultural and recreational activities.
