The Heat-related Illness Prevention Awareness Training is a 45-minute course designed to educate district employees awareness of measures to reduce heat-related illnesses at work.
Heat illnesses includes heat cramps, fainting, heat exhaustion, and heatstroke.   The earlier you identify heat illness symptoms, the more likely you are to be able to do something about it.  Practicing proper techniques to reduce the hazard of heat stress at work can also prevent serious health problems from these conditions.
This course will help the district meet its employee safety training requirement and is ideal for employees needing a brief review of basic strategies to help prevent heat-related illness.  We
will cover : Types of heat-related illness, Identification of symptoms, basic steps for prevention, check weather index, frequent water consumption, rest breaks with shade, personal protective equipment.
