Source of Funding
During fiscal year 2000-01, the Board of Governors (BOG) supported a Academic Accommodation
Center (AAC) Budget Change Proposal (BCP) to secure resources to address system wide
deficiencies cited by the U.S. Department of Education, Office of Civil Rights (OCR)
requiring that the California Community College System afford students with disabilities
equal and effective access to electronic information. The AAC program provides support
services, specialized instruction, and educational accommodations to students with
disabilities so that they can participate as fully and benefit as equitable from the
college experience as their non-disabled peers.
