Update: Confirmed Cases and Exposures

September 29, 2021

On Monday, Sept. 27, a notification was sent to all employees regarding a confirmed COVID-19 case with three exposures. We have more information on that case, and we are writing to provide you with an update.

Three employees who were in close contact with each other off campus on Sept. 22 and last at the Valencia campus on Sept. 23 subsequently experienced symptoms of COVID-19. The district received positive diagnoses on Sept. 23, 27, and 28 from these three employees.

The Los Angeles County Department of Public Health is reviewing these cases and considers them to be a cluster incident. An additional employee was exposed, along with a number of students, so we are conducting additional contact tracing.

The employees who tested positive will self-quarantine for the required period, and exposed individuals will either quarantine or monitor for symptoms as appropriate.

As mentioned in earlier cases, we understand the desire to know more about these situations. However, we must balance the concern that we all have for our co-workers and students with privacy laws. With that in mind, we are not able to provide more detail that could identify these individuals.

As a reminder, please continue to self-monitor for COVID-19 symptoms each day before coming to campus. Do not enter campus if you are currently experiencing, or have in the past 14 days experienced:
