  • Social Work is a profession that prepares students to help individuals, families, and communities in a variety of employment positions and settings.
    Social Work has its own knowledge base, practice standards, ethical code, credentials, licensing, professional organizations, and national system of accredited Social Work education
    Social Work offers professionally accredited degree programs at the undergraduate level (BASW/BSW), the graduate level (MSW), and the doctoral level (PH.D. and DSW).
  • Social Workers are counselors, case managers, community organizers, activists, and leaders in government, education, and social service organizations.
    Students with a BASW/BSW degree may work in such settings as child welfare organizations, youth development programs, mental health organizations, and other community organizations.
    Work activities may include case management, resource coordination, intake and referral services, leading supportive or educational groups, victim services, court accompaniment, supervisor, fund raising, life skills training.

    Application is completely free and available online
    No application deadline, but it is highly recommended that students apply early in order to receive financial aid. 
    GPA and minimum credits

    A minimum 2.0 GPA in transferable units
    A minimum of 12 transferable credits
    Transcripts

    Students need to submit all official transcripts from every college attended including AP test scores. Transcripts can be dropped off at the  University of Massachusetts Global offices located in the University Center (204F or 204C) or mail transcripts to: University of Massachusetts Global 16355 Laguna Canyon Rd. Irvine, CA 92618
    Cost

    Undergraduate: $500/credit

Format Classes are offered as 8 week sessions
Scholarships College of the Canyons students receive 10% off tuition if they were enrolled at COC within the past year prior to enrollment at University of Massachusetts Global. Please complete the Scholarship Application.
Units Minimum 120 overall semester units required –of those, minimum 33 units will be taken at  University of Massahusetts Global for this program, additional units may be completed in transfer. Concurrent enrollment at UMG and COC is allowed. Actual numbers may vary- see advisor.
