Geography (AD-T)
CCC Pathway Information
Geography is the broad spatial science that studies the location, distribution, and interaction among all physical and cultural features of earth. These studies include physical processes that create and modify landforms, affect daily weather and long-term climates, and influence the setting for all biologic phenomena such as plants, animals and humans. These studies also include the distribution and interaction of cultural phenomena such as population, language, religion, economics, politics, diseases, agriculture, migration, resources, urban patterns, ethnic studies, and the many short-term and long-term effects of humans on the environment.
The geography program also includes the study and use of graphs, maps, geospatial
digital data retrieval and cartographic technology. Through lecture, lab, and field
study, the geography program provides insight, perspective, and application required
to assist citizens in making well-informed decisions involving the inter-relationships
between the natural physical environment and the systems and networks of human societies.
