Reduce or Cancel a Loan
You have the right to reduce or cancel all or a portion of your Federal Direct Loan and/or Parent PLUS Loan.
To request a reduction or cancellation BEFORE your scheduled disbursement, submit the Direct Loan Change/Cancellation Request Form or a written request to the Financial Aid Office no later than five (5) business days before the scheduled disbursement date.
If you loan has already been disbursed, you may still request cancellation. The Financial Aid Office will honor requests received after disbursement to the extent permitted under federal regulations and operationally feasible, including returning funds to the U.S. Department of Education when allowable.
