Opening remarks by Dr. Omar Torres, VP of Instruction, as well as updates from the Online Education team and the Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning.

Keynote: Encouraging Academic Integrity

This interactive session explores ways to foster acadeimc integrity and reduce plagiarism and cheating in the online classroom via strategies such as scafolding, reverse course design, and innovative pedagogy. This session includes examples from both an English course as well as a Math course, both taught online using these stragtegies.

What does brain research tell us about how we learn and how that can impact - and improve - your teaching practices? Using John Medina's Brain Rules as a foundation, we'll explore how brain science can help us more effectively engage our students in the task of learning.
