Membership for Full or Associate Student, Honorary and Faculty are offered through our local chapter, Kappa Xi for Alpha Mu Gamma at College of the Canyons.
Sigma Delta Mu
Sigma Delta Mu recognizes excellence in Spanish among an important segment of the student population of higher education (2-year college). On October 2013, COC established the Iota of California chapter of Sigma Delta Mu. The purposes of the society are:
- to honor those who seek and attain excellence in the study of the Spanish language, literature and the culture of the Spanish-speaking peoples;
- to honor those who strive to make the Hispanic contribution to modern culture better known to English-speaking peoples;
- to encourage students to acquire a greater interest and deeper understanding of Hispanic culture, and;
- to foster friendly relations and mutual respect between the nations of Hispanic speech and those of English speech.
