Dean's Welcome


On behalf of our faculty and staff, we welcome you to the School of Social and Behavioral Sciences (SBS). This School features 7 programs of study: Anthropology, Communication Studies, Early Childhood Education, History, Political Science, Psychology, and Sociology.

The faculty who teach within this school are dedicated sociologists, educators, psychologists, anthropologists, political scientists, communications specialists, and historians. They serve as club advisors, academic coaches, mentors and advisors to students majoring in various field. Our faculty are active in personal and professional development and community service, and serve on the boards of nonprofits and as officers in discipline-specific societies. In addition to pursuing their studies within the classroom, students have the opportunity to participate in a variety of co-curricular activities and clubs including the Anthropology Club, Muslim Club, Communication Studies Club, Progressive Student Alliance Club, Psychology Club, Political Science Club, Model United Nations, the award-wining Forensics program, Sociology Club, History Club, and many discipline-specific honors societies.

College of the Canyons is a wonderful place to begin, continue, or enhance your academic journey. Your studies will be guided by enthusiastic, experienced educators who are passionate about their subjects and care about the academic success of their students.
