Eight Former Students Inducted into Alumni Hall of Fame

The College of the Canyons Foundation and Alumni Network hosted its annual Alumni Hall of Fame induction ceremony and dinner on Thursday, April 25 at the Dr. Dianne G. Van Hook University Center.

Chancellor Dr. Dianne G. Van Hook established the Alumni Hall of Fame in 1999 to recognize alumni who have made outstanding professional achievements and to acknowledge the role of community colleges.

“The true mark of our effectiveness as a college is the success of our students as hard working, ethical, focused members of the community,” Chancellor Dr. Dianne G. Van Hook said. “The achievements and character of each of these inductees, along with our past inductees, are a demonstration of the impact of education as a life-changing process. We are so proud that these individuals were our students and look forward to seeing their successes and joys as the years go on. They are our future!”

The Rising Star Award is given to an alumnus who has graduated within the last 15 years and shows outstanding growth in their chosen profession.

Introduced this year, the Outstanding Educator Award is given to an alumnus who has made a significant contribution within the field of education.

The mission of the College of the Canyons Alumni Network is to create lifelong connections among alumni and provide opportunities to increase awareness, pride, participation, involvement and commitment to the college.
