Public Records Act Requests
College of the Canyons and the Santa Clarita Community College District (SCCCD) are committed to transparency and providing public access to records in accordance with the California Public Records Act (Government Code § 7920.000 et seq.).
Please note, access to records exempt from public disclosure or designated confidential, private, or privileged by state or federal laws will not granted. Please refer to the Board Policy and Administrative Procedure under "References" for more information.
After receiving a request for records or inspection of records, SCCCD will review the request and provide a written response to the request within 10 days. The response will include whether the District has the requested documents in its possession, and a date when they are expected to be made available to the requestor.
In certain cases, the response time limit may be extended with written notice as allowed by law. An explanation of the reasons for the extension and the expected determination date of document availability will be be provided.
