Thursday, Jan. 23, 2025, 6:15 p.m.
Although fire conditions have improved significantly, the Valencia campus remains in use as an evacuation center and emergency command post/staging area. With large numbers of emergency personnel and equipment still on campus, the college will not hold in-person classes at the Valencia or Canyon Country campuses on Friday, Jan. 24. Online and Online Live classes can meet as scheduled, and off-campus classes may meet depending on location. Instructors should check with their deans or site coordinator to confirm. Although campus offices will not be open to the public for walk-in services Friday, offices will be staffed to provide phone and email support to students and the community. All employees should report to work as scheduled and contact their supervisors directly with any specific questions. We know this has been a challenging time for both college employees and students, especially those directly impacted by the fire, and we appreciate your patience and flexibility as we continue responding to this community emergency. We are grateful for the opportunity to serve as a resource and make our facilities available to support the Santa Clarita Valley. We especially appreciate the dedication and professionalism of first responders, the American Red Cross, and other organizations that mobilized quickly to protect our community.
