Program Information: If you are interested in becoming a teacher, the TEACH Program at College of the Canyons is here to guide you along your pathway. TEACH is a specialized support system designed to prepare the next generation of future educators. TEACH offers academic and career advisement, career exploration, and contextualized learning opportunities. TEACH advisors are available to assist with scholarships and job placement, networking with industry leaders, and mapping out individualized plans for a rewarding career as a teacher. TEACH provides a variety of FREE teacher preparation services and resources including:
- Career exploration and Fieldwork opportunities in a classroom setting (TK-K and Community College)
- Professional development workshops and conferences
- Test-prep workshops for CBEST / CSET / RICA
- Support with applying for a California Teacher Permit
- Opportunities to volunteer at COC and in the Santa Clarita Community Opportunities to volunteer at COC and in the Santa Clarita Community
- Academic Advisement: Degree and Certificate options; CSU / UC Transfers; Credential pathways
Who does the TEACH Program Serve? There is a significant teacher shortage in California and TEACH provides services to high school and college students, as well as community members who want to teach.
