Briauna JohnsonProfessor Johnson graduated from California State University (CSUN) with her bachelor’s degree in Sociology in 2012. She continued her education at CSUN in 2015, graduating in the Fall of 2017 with her Master’s in Sociology with a specialty in gender and sexuality.

Since then, Briauna has taught in both the Sociology and Gender Women Studies departments at CSUN teaching courses on anything from Research Methods to Diversity and Social Justice. She is now beginning her journey at College of the Canyons teaching SOC 103 (Sociology of Relationships).

Her research interests are vast, but currently she is focusing on Black LGBTQIA+ individuals and qualitative/arts-based methodologies. Her interests outside of Sociology are also vast. She enjoys music, sports (particularly college football), Spartan races, national parks, her dog (and literally all dogs), and demanding justice.
