Maureen Huskey writes and directs for theater and performance. Her work has been presented
in New York, Chicago, San Francisco, Vienna, Austria, Vancouver, and Los Angeles.
She has received a Robby Award for playwriting, a Princess Grace Award, a Bessie Award,
and work she has directed has received NAACP and OVATION nominations. She's been awarded
by the Creative Capital Foundation and Voice & Vision’s ENVISION award for women theater
artists (NYC), among others. Huskey co-founded Red Dive, a vanguard company in the
site-specific and immersive theater movement in NYC which she directed. She holds
a Diploma in Dramatic Playwriting with Merit from the University of Kent at Canterbury,
England as a Rotary Scholar and an MFA in Theater Direction from the California Institute
of the Arts (CalArts).
