Prior to Commencement Information
Grad Fair
Tuesday, May 3, 2022 from 2:00pm – 7:00pm and Thursday, May 5, 2022 from 10:00am – 2:00pm inside the Student Center. Graduates will receive 20% off on a variety of cap & gown packages made during the week of Grad Fair (May 2- 6, 2022)
This event will provide graduates with an opportunity to:

- Purchase and get fitted for their cap and gown
- Purchase a variety of graduation merchandise
- Take and order formal pictures in cap and gown
- Please make sure to bring your cap & gown with you
- Check for the correct spelling of their name for the diploma & graduation program
- RSVP for the Grad Walk or the traditional graduation ceremony
- Meet with some of the University Center partners
- Pick up their gold honor cord (for eligible honor graduates only)
Diploma Check
A.A./A.S./AA-T/Certificate of Achievement candidates should make a special effort to check their student copy of the graduation petition submitted with Counseling. A copy should have been provided for personal records and reference. It is important to check for correct degree(s), major(s), certificate(s) and spelling of the name, and to update Admissions and Records should any changes be needed. Any updates for name change only should be emailed to cadet@canyons.edu with the necessary changes. If there are questions concerning any degree or certificate programs or requirements, please email counseling at counseling@canyons.edu. All changes must be made by May 5, 2022 in order for your name and certificate to be in the official Commencement program.
Honor Graduates
In recognition of those students graduating with honors, students will be awarded with a gold honor cord. In order to receive an honor cord, graduating students must have maintained a grade point average of 3.5 or greater in degree applicable units prior to the Spring 2022 semester while attending College of the Canyons. Honor cords will be available to pick up at the Grad Fair. For those who are unable to attend the Grad Fair, honor graduates may pick up their gold honor cord in Campus Life & Student Engagement (STCN-102), during regular hours of operation (Mondays, Wednesdays, & Thursdays: 9:00am-6pm, Tuesdays: 9:00am-7:00pm, and Fridays: 9:00am – 1:00pm) through Friday, May 27, 2022. Please note that Campus Life & Student Engagement will be closed the week of May 30, 2022 due to Commencement preparation.
Commencement Reservations
- Grad Walk CEREMONY Reservations (6 guests max allowed):
- Reservations for graduates and guests are required. Those without a reservation will not be admitted to the Grad Walk.
- In order to accommodate all of the graduates, graduates may sign-up for ONE 30 minute Grad Walk available time slot.
- Graduates may not reserve more than one Grad Walk timeslot.
- Please note there are a limited amount of graduates who may sign up for each timeslot.
- Grad Walk reservations may not be exchanged for participation in the traditional graduation ceremony.
- Graduates who participate in the Grad Walk will be permitted to bring a maximum of 6 guests.
- Grad Walk reservations will be available beginning Monday, May 2, 2022. Please make sure to check your student email in the next few weeks for additional information about reservations including a link to the online reservation form.
- Reservations will be accepted until 6:00pm on Thursday, May 19, 2022. No reservations will be accepted after this date.
- Due to space limitations and maximum capacity restrictions, reservations will be issued
on a first-come first-serve basis.
- Traditional Graduation Ceremony Reservations (2 GUESTS MAX ALLOWED):
- Reservations for graduates and guests are required. Those without a reservation will not be admitted to the graduation ceremony.
- Traditional graduation ceremony reservations may not be exchanged for participation in the Grad Walk.
- Graduates who participate in the traditional graduation ceremony will be permitted to bring a maximum of 2 guests.
- Traditional graduation ceremony reservations will be available beginning Monday, May 2, 2022. Please make sure to check your student email in the next few weeks for additional information about reservations including a link to the online reservation form.
- Due to space limitations and for the safety of graduates, guests, and members of the campus community, additional guests will NOT be permitted under any circumstance.
- Reservations will be accepted until 6:00pm on Thursday, May 19, 2022. No reservations will be accepted after this date.
- Due to space limitations and maximum capacity restrictions, reservations will be issued on a first-come first-serve basis.

Register before graduation day to get 20% off purchases of $50 or more. Registration may be completed at GradImages.
