Lost and Found Policy

Lost & Found items are retained by Campus Safety until the end of the semester or for 90 days, whichever time period is longer. Unclaimed Property is disposed of according to the following guidelines:

• All items with serial numbers, keys, and items valued over $100.00 are turned over to the SCV Sheriff's station
• Important documents, e.g. driver licenses, social security cards, bank cards are mailed to the issuing agency
• Clothing, shoes, backpacks, purses, glasses, and other miscellaneous items are donated as deemed appropriate by the Campus Safety Department
• Loose papers and notebooks are destroyed
• COC library books are returned to the library immediately
• Miscellaneous books/textbooks are donated as deemed appropriate by the Campus Safety Department
