    Come see the Graphic Media Design (GMD) table where we will be handing out Zines that describe graphic design careers, educational pathways, potential employers, and will showcase books from our design library. Students who want to see our GMD lab will be directed to Mentry 205 where we will be hanging out, making collages, and answering questions.

    Adult Reentry Alliance 

    The Adult Reentry Alliance (ARA) is an affinity group focused on supporting the success of adult learners. We hold monthly workshops designed to address the needs of our adult learners and provide a strong sense of community where students feel supported, empowered and encouraged to achieve their full potential while balancing work, family and school responsibilities.  During this workshop we will share information about support services, resources and upcoming spring events.

    The Future of Work in Santa Clarita 

    The new Advanced Technology Center (ATC) will prepare the future workforce for advanced manufacturing/technology careers and support the growth of key manufacturing sectors through R&D and training the future workforce via dynamic work-based learning modalities. Our new programs will produce highly qualified manufacturing technicians and technologists that help shape the values of the entire community to create an ecosystem that is supportive of modern advanced technologies.

    Pre-Nursing and Pre-Health: Ways to Start Off Strong! 

    If you are considering pursuing a health professions program (such as nursing, medical lab technician, physical therapist assistant, etc.) and want to learn how to start off your studies as strong as possible.

    Pathway to Law School 

    Are you considering a career in the legal profession? If so, join us to learn about the Pathway to Law School Program(PLS). PLS is a California Community College Initiative in partnership with 15 ABA-accredited California law schools to increase diversity in the legal profession. Some of our law school partners include: Pepperdine University Caruso School of Law, Loyola Law, UC Berkeley School of Law, UC Davis, UCLA, UC Irvine, and USC Gould School of Law.  During this session, we will share information about program benefits, support services, and resources, required courses for the Law Scholar Certificate, our partner law schools and what it means to be a Cal Law Scholar. Join us to learn how to earn your California Law Pathways Certificate of Completion and join the program!

  • Discover Day 2024 will be held at the Valencia Campus between Canyons Hall and the Student Center (parking is free!). Need a campus map? Click on the icon below:

    • Will food be provided?  A: Yes! We will have food available on a first come, first serve basis while supplies last. 
    • Do I need to RSVP?  A: No, RSVP's are not necessary. Just come!
    • What kind of workshops will be offered?  A: The workshop schedule will be posted here close to the event starting date, but you can expect some fun and exciting topics lead by COC faculty.
    • Where will Discover Day be held?  A: Discover Day will be held at the Valencia Campus, not far from the Bookstore.  There will also be open labs, and workshops that will be held in classrooms throughout campus.  Check back soon for additional details.  
    • Do I need to sign up or preregister for a workshop I'd like to attend?  A: No, just show up!
    • Will Academic Advisors be there, to help me plan out which classes to take?  A: Yes!  We will have Academic Advisors available during Discover Day.  
    • Will there be clubs at Discover Day?  A: Yes, a few clubs will be present.  You can also stop by the Associated Student Government (ASG) table and the Campus Life & Student Engagement table. 
    • Do I need a parking pass for Discover Day?  A:  No, you don't need a parking pass.  Feel free to park in any student parking space.
