Becca | "Hello, I’m Becca and I am a History major at College of the Canyons. I’m transferring to SDSU this fall to earn my bachelor's degree. I love being a Peer Leader because I get to talk to a lot of people and meet new faces, especially during events like college fairs and campus activities. One of my favorite things about COC is the vibe here, I’ve got a few go-to spots. One of my favorites are the benches behind the tennis courts under the trees, it’s the perfect place to chill and read!" |
Cathy | "My name is Cathy and I am a studio arts major. This fall, I will be transferring to Cal State Northridge. I love working as a peer leader because it has allowed me to gain confidence as a public speaker, assist the community, and form connections with amazing people. COC has been a great place for me to start my education and explore my different interests." |

Mariam | "Hello! My name is Mariam and I am currently a Biochemistry major at College of the Canyons! I love learning about the complicated reactions in the human body and aim to transfer to UCLA to continue my passion. College of the Canyons really brings out the "community" in community college because many services, including the Ask Me desk, truly support you. I love my job because I get to serve my fellow schoolmates and learn each of their unique personalities!" |
Natalie | "Hi! My name is Natalie and I am a Political Science Major, pursuing a career in Law and will be transferring to either UCI or UCLA in the Fall of 2025. This job has allowed me to make many connections and has taught me so much, especially when it comes to the many programs and opportunities we offer at COC. COC has been the place that has helped me really decide the career path that I want to take through the experiences it has allowed me to encounter. I am currently part of the Pathway to Law School Program as well as a part of the Coptic Club." |
Naz | "My name is Naz and I'm a Media Entertainment Arts majoring in Filmmaking. I will transfer to either CSUN or CSULB by the end of summer 2025. I enjoy helping people as it is very fulfilling and helps me learn how to communicate with others. Working in the Outreach department is very special to me as my team is very supportive and helpful. I enjoy attending and working at COC because of the faculty, staff, and the community it has with so many events on campus." |
Samantha | "Hola, my name is Samantha I'm a college assistant in our Welcome Center. I enjoy working at the Welcome Center because I am able to help students and community members as they embark on their educational journey. I am currently completing my Nursing ADN where I am learning skills and knowledge in preparation to become a Registered Nurse." |
Sylvia | "My name is Sylvia, and I’m a Biology major here at College of the Canyons. After COC, I plan to transfer to a UC or CSU to earn a Bachelor of Science in Physiology or Molecular Cell Biology. I enjoy being a peer leader because it allows me to help students navigate challenges I’ve also faced, while interacting with new people daily. My favorite part about COC is how focused the college and its services are on student success. I’m involved in two campus clubs: I’m the president of Hands on Earth, an environmental club, and the Interclub Council representative for the Coptic Club, a Christian club on campus." |
Zoe | "Hi everyone, my name is Zoe. I am currently pursuing a major in Early Childhood Education, with a focus on Child and Adolescent Development. I’m transferring to CSUN next Fall. As a peer leader, I really enjoy assisting students to pursue their career dreams, being able to help them since the first contact they have with COC to their first day of classes. I truly value the strong sense of community and the wide range of academic and financial support COC provides. Moving forward, I aspire to continue advocating for education." |
