Industry Certification - Construction Management


There are a number of industry certifications available in Construction Management. The question is which certification do I need?

Typically these certifications are a way to further enhance your skills and your resume but are not required for employment. However when applying for a position, it is important to carefully review the qualifications.

Construction Management Association of America (CMAA)

Construction Manager-In-Training Program (CMIT)

Construction Management Association of America (CMAA)

Certified Construction Manager (CCM)

Project Management Institute (PMI) Project Management Professional (PMP)

American Institute of Constructors (AIC) Certified Professional Constructor (CPC)

Degree Requirements
Although entry level positions in the industry may not require a Bachelor Degree, to be competitive in the employment market, it is recommended that you have at least an Associate Degree and some on the job experience. If you'd like to work at a large, perhaps national or international employer, or promote up the career ladder, you will likely need a Bachelor Degree.
