Industry Advisory Board

The College of the Canyons MESA Program relies on the support of local industry, and Math, Science and Engineering faculty. The MESA Industry Advisory Board (IAB) was established to provide industry exposure and professional development opportunities for MESA students.

Responsibilities of COC-MESA Board

1. Provide feedback on professional development of students entering the workforce
2. Provide input regarding the technical staffing needs of industries within Santa Clarita Valley and Los Angeles County
3. Actively participate in creating work experience opportunities for STEM Students (Internships, Job Shadowing, Experience Camps, Mentorships, Professional Engagement, etc.)
4. Help with the students success and retention through exposure to STEM resources, professional development (guest speakers, career advising, company tours), team and leadership skills
5. Actively support the mission and strategic success of COC-MESA
6. Help build and sustain relationships with relevant industry stakeholders
7. Liaison with community and relevant industries
8. Assist COC-MESA with grant proposals (letters of support)

Joining the MESA IAB is FREE; all we ask for is your time and dedication. The MESA program is continually looking for various resources to help our students and Center succeed. We appreciate your support with any of our programs and/or activities.
