Student Clubs and Alliances

COC has a large variety of Clubs, Alliances, and Empowerment Programs to support our students.

Research shows that students who become involved in these types of extracurricular activities tend to do better in college because they provide academic and emotional support for students.

Alliances at COC are intended to provide social and academic support for students. Through these alliances, students can learn more about campus resources and have access to mentors. We offer the following alliances: African American / Black Student Alliance, Latinx Alliance, Trans Alliance, Gender Sexuality Alliance, First-Gen Student Alliance, Autism Social Alliance, Adult Reentry Alliance, STEM Alliance, Native American Indigenous Alliance, and Veteran Student Alliance.  Check out the COC Alliances.

Empowerment Programs include EOPS/CARE (first-generation college student, CCPG A, B, or D tuition fee waiver, or academic need), CalWORKs (student with dependent children receiving government assistance), Inspire Scholars (current/former foster youth) and the Undocumented Resource Center (AB 540, DACA, dreamers, or out-of-status, etc). The mission of these programs is to help empower students to achieve academic, personal, and career success by providing additional support and resources every step of the way. If you are interested in learning more about our programs, please visit our websites or zoom helpdesk. We are also available in-person: Valencia Campus (Student Support Center 117 & 123) and Canyon Country Campus (Quad 1B).
