Faculty Development Programs

If you are a teacher interested in the specific programs for teaching improvement and professional
development that are available at College of the Canyons, the resources below should be of value to you.

Associate Program for Adjunct Instructors

  • A program of weekend teaching workshops and mentoring designed exclusively for adjunct instructors.

New Faculty Orientation and Mentoring Program

  • A series of workshops and a mentoring program to support new faculty members while they make the transition to a new workplace and teaching environment.

Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning

  • An in-house curriculum of formal courses on teaching and learning.

Professional Development

  • Workshops are offered throughout the year to provide faculty members with an array of professional development opportunities.

Faculty Technology Center

  • The Tech Center offers technology workshops in support of many of the other programs listed here. But they are also available for individualized instruction.

 

TEACH

  • TEACH is a partnership program involving California State University, Bakersfield, College of the Canyons, and the Newhall and Hart School Districts to provide students with supervised fieldwork and specialized support services while pursuing a teaching credential.
