Our Commitment to You

Dear Campus Community,

As the 2016 election has sparked concerns among our students about their ongoing access to education, I am writing to reassure everyone that College of the Canyons remains committed to ensuring access to all of our students, andcreating anenvironment where everyone can achieve their educational goals and realize their full potential.

The California Community Colleges Chancellors Office recently released a guiding statement of principles addressing the uncertainty over potential immigration policy changes that could adversely impact undocumented students. College of the Canyons affirms these principles of access and service and will work to ensure all students continue to benefit from the programs and services that we offer on our campuses.

Financial aid is available to all students, including undocumented students. Undocumented students are eligible to pay in-state enrollment fees, and they also can apply for and receive fee waivers and Cal Grants, as well as scholarships offered by the College of the Canyons Foundation.

Access to these benefits is protected by California law, and separate from federal immigration policy. Additional information can be found on the California Community Colleges Chancellors Office website. Pleaseclick hereto access the information.

Diversity is a fundamental component of our mission at College of the Canyons. It is specifically delineated in our Strategic Plan, which states: College of the Canyons will provide student support to facilitate equitable student success and maximize opportunity for all students.

We are proud to stand as a gateway to opportunity, and look forward to working together as faculty, staff and administrators to ensure the success of all students at College of the Canyons.
