Rules and Regulations
Organizer. College of the Canyons Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Eligibility.
Open to individuals 18+; void where prohibited.
By purchasing, you agree to these Rules.
How to Enter: Each entry equals one uniquely numbered golf ball. Pricing: $20 (1) • $75 (5) • $100 (10). Purchases are contributions supporting the College of the Canyons Foundation (Contributions tied to a chance to win are generally not tax-deductible; consult your tax advisor.)
Number Assignment: Foundation staff will assign an available number and notify you.
Winner Selection: The ball closest to the pin (or in the cup) wins. Distances measured from the center of the ball to the flagstick/center of cup by Foundation officials. Ties decided by random drawing among tied entries. Officials’ decisions are final.
Prize: $2,500 to the winning entry. Prize is non-transferable, no substitution.
Verification & Taxes: Winner must provide valid photo ID and complete IRS Form W-9. The Foundation will issue required tax forms (e.g., W-2G/1099, as applicable). Taxes and any withholding (if required) are the winner’s responsibility. Failure to provide documentation within 7 business days may result in disqualification and selection of an alternate.
Payment Timing: Prize issued after verification via District/Foundation processing. No same-day payouts. Please allow up to 4 weeks for processing/mailing.
Contingencies: If weather/safety/operational issues prevent a helicopter drop, the Foundation may (at its sole discretion) (i) conduct a manual drop from an elevated platform, or (ii) select a winner by random drawing from all assigned entries. If the event is canceled, purchases may be treated as charitable contributions or the event may be rescheduled.
Conduct & Safety: All participants/spectators must follow course and event rules. The Foundation may modify, suspend, or cancel the contest, and may refuse participation to protect safety and fairness.
Governing Law: These Rules are governed by the laws of the State of California and applicable federal regulations.
