Resources and Assistance
Resources are available for students, staff, and community members impacted by the ongoing wildfires in the greater Los Angeles region – and opportunities exist for you to support recovery efforts.
If you know a student in need, the Basic Needs Center (BaNC) can provide vital resources to assist those affected by the wildfires:
- Emergency Housing Assistance – Temporary housing options for displaced students.
- Food Security Resources – Access to the campus food pantry and meal assistance programs.
- Financial Assistance – Emergency grants to help with unexpected expenses due to fire-related damages.
- Mental Health Support – Free counseling services available through the Health and Wellness Center.
- Community Referrals – Connections to local agencies for additional housing, food, and financial support.

Immediate Response Services
- American Red Cross of Los Angeles County: Assistance with locating loved ones and immediate shelter needs.
- 211 Los Angeles: Connects you to local emergency services and resources.
- Los Angeles Regional Food Bank: Food support for individuals and families.
- National Disaster Distress Helpline: Call or text 1-800-985-5990 for 24/7 emotional support.
- Finding Friends and Family: Provides tools and assistance, such as the Red Cross Safe and Well registry, to help individuals locate loved ones during emergencies.
- Pasadena Community Foundation: Offers grants and financial support to local organizations aiding in disaster relief and recovery efforts within Pasadena and surrounding areas.
- LAFD Foundation: Supports Los Angeles Fire Department personnel by funding equipment, training, and community outreach during emergencies like wildfires.
- Direct Relief International: Provides emergency medical supplies, resources, and financial support to communities affected by natural disasters, including wildfire victims and responders.
- Food Pantries: A directory of food banks and pantries providing free or low-cost food to individuals and families in need.
- California Fire Foundation - Supplying Aid to Victims of Emergency (SAVE): Offers direct financial assistance to victims of wildfires and other disasters through first responders.
- Salvation Army - How You Can Help: Guides individuals on contributing to disaster relief efforts through donations, volunteer opportunities, and other forms of support.
- Salvation Army Relief Centers: Provides emergency shelter, food, and support services for individuals and families affected by disasters.
- California Conservation Corps: Engages young adults in disaster recovery efforts such as fire suppression, debris removal, and community rebuilding initiatives.

- Disaster Assistance - SBA: Low-interest federal loans for businesses, homeowners, and renters to assist with rebuilding and recovery after wildfires.
- City of Los Angeles Recovery Resources: A hub for recovery programs, housing assistance, and financial resources for wildfire-impacted residents.
- L.A. County Wildfire Recovery Resources: Provides services like debris removal, housing programs, and financial aid tailored to residents affected by wildfires in Los Angeles County.
- Federal Disaster Loans for Homes and Businesses: Low-interest loans from FEMA and SBA to help individuals and businesses repair or replace property damaged or destroyed by disasters.

Emergency Grants
The College of the Canyons Foundation Cougars Care Emergency Grant Fund provides critical resources to students in need, including emergency grants, housing and food assistance, and other essential services.
