COC to Hold Discover Day on April 24
College of the Canyons will host its annual Discover Day on Friday, April 24, offering prospective and new students an opportunity to explore the college’s wide range of academic programs, student services and campus life.
The event will take place from 3 to 6 p.m. on the Valencia campus, where representatives from academic departments, student services and student organizations will be available to answer questions and provide information about the college experience.
“Discover Day is a great opportunity for prospective students and their families to explore campus, connect with faculty and staff, and learn about the many programs and resources available at COC,” said Gabby Danis, director of Student Outreach and the college’s Welcome Center. “It’s a chance for students to really picture themselves and begin getting excited about going to college.”
Attendees will be able to visit information tables representing a variety of academic disciplines, learn about financial aid and other resources to help pay for college, and attend workshops hosted by campus programs and services.
In addition, campus offices will be open for tours and presentations, giving visitors a behind-the-scenes look at the support systems available to students.
Discover Day is free and open to the public. Complimentary parking will be available in all student lots for the duration of the event.
