Canyon Country Campus Message
Welcome to the Canyon Country Campus, an important part of how College of the Canyons (COC) serves students and the community. Opened in August 2007, the Canyon Country Campus (CCC) marks its seventeenth anniversary in Fall 2024. Strategically located approximately 10-miles east of COC’s Valencia Campus on a 70-acre hillside property at 17200 Sierra Highway, the Canyon Country Campus has expanded opportunities and availability of COC resources in the greater Santa Clarita Valley. The ongoing mission of the campus is to provide access to quality instructional programs, supportive student services, and meaningful community partnerships, and it is exciting to see how the campus continues to facilitate student impact with nearly 75,000 students having earned credit for classes at the campus since it opened.
CCC seeks to be a comprehensive campus, which means that programs and services offered on-site are designed to appropriately support student success and facilitate opportunities based upon identified student and community needs. With more than 30 different academic pathways to completion available on campus, students at CCC benefit from quality instruction and supportive services that help appropriately support them on their paths to success. Additional information about campus academic pathways, support and engagement resources, and various class formats and disciplines offered on campus is available under “Classes” on the CCC website, including information on focused, short-term classes.
Campus facilities include approximately 60 classrooms in lecture, science lab, computer lab, and program-specific configurations. The Takeda Science Center features a variety of science labs, classrooms, and student study spaces that serve various high-demand STEM, transfer, and other academic program needs. The Applied Technology Education Center offers instruction in career technical education programs such as Automotive, Construction, and Water Technologies. Students are well supported by the Student Services & Learning Resources Center with department services, classrooms, tutoring and library space, and by a student engagement hub with Campus Life & Engagement resources. Collectively, the facilities, instructional programs, and student services available at CCC are designed to aid students in their success and respond to ongoing needs and opportunities identified by COC.
The campus also hosts a variety of popular events for students, staff, and the community, including a vibrant "Science Talks" series that features biannual community Star Parties, Garden Walks, and engaging programing in a variety of STEM science disciplines from expert faculty, staff, and external speakers. The campus is proud to be used as a laboratory for innovation, showcasing campus offerings that serve both students and the community. We are indebted to the ongoing support and passion of all our COC colleagues who help the Canyon Country Campus to make a difference for students, exemplifying the pioneering spirit that makes this site thrive. With passion and dedication, we look forward to ensuring that the CCC supports students and their success, and we wish you a wonderful academic year ahead.
