Guaranteed Transfer Admission

Transfer Admission Guarantee (TAG) programs offer California community college students a guaranteed path to admission at select UC campuses, provided all program requirements are met.

TAG programs typically require students to:

• Complete a set of required transferable courses

• Maintain a minimum GPA

• Meet unit and major-specific requirements

• Submit a TAG application by the campus deadline

Students must carefully review each campus’s TAG criteria and timelines, as some majors may be excluded.

📌 Important: TAG applications are submitted before the regular transfer application and have earlier deadlines.

The CSU Transfer Success Pathway (TSP) offers fist time freshmen students guaranteed admission to a California State University (CSU) campus and major of choice (with certain exceptions).

Through TSP, students receive:

• Admission to participating CSU campuses (guaranteed admission)

• Clear major-specific course recommendations

• Advising support to stay on track for transfer

Select Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) offer transfer agreements or guaranteed admission pathways for community college students who meet specific academic criteria.

These pathways may include:

• Guaranteed or priority admission upon completion of required coursework

• GPA and credit minimums

• Program-to-program articulation agreements

HBCU transfer opportunities vary widely by institution and are often established through individual partnerships. Students interested in transferring to an HBCU should work closely with a counselor to identify participating schools, confirm requirements, and plan coursework accordingly.

This program is designed to facilitate the transfer of qualified community college students to Pepperdine with guaranteed admission to select undergraduate programs.

Guaranteed Admission:

• Students who meet the eligibility requirements listed above and submit all required application materials by the application deadline will be guaranteed admission to eligible Seaver College Programs.
• Admission guarantees do not extend to our Fine Arts or Nursing majors.
• Admission guarantees do not guarantee that you will graduate within a certain timeframe. We encourage you to refer to our Articulation Agreement with your college or Assist.org to verify what courses will transfer.
• If you have an ADT, you can only complete the following majors within two years: Art History, Communication Studies, Economics, English, History, Philosophy, Political Science, Psychology, Sociology, and Spanish.

Eligibility Requirements:

• Students must submit a completed application for admission, all required supporting materials, and the application fee to Pepperdine University on or before the transfer
  application deadline.
• Students must have completed at least 30 units at one or more community colleges by the appropriate application deadline.
• Students must have earned a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.25. This is a cumulative GPA for all courses from all institutions attended.
• Admission guarantee is subject to change if a student has excessive withdrawals, other concerns related to academic ability and preparedness for Seaver, or disciplinary violations. This will be determined at the time of transcript evaluation.

Student Responsibilities:

• Students still need to fill out the Pepperdine Transfer Application by the application deadline of January 15th for the Fall semester and October 1st for the Spring semester.
• Once the application is complete, you can fill out the TAG Form in your Pepperdine Application Portal.
• All required materials including official college transcripts, proof of high school completion (final high school transcript, GED, or CHSPE), and an academic letter of recommendation must be submitted by the application deadline.
