University of California (UC)
Transfer Requirements
First Step
Start by completing your math and English requirements in your first year if possible. The UC places a high priority on students that complete two (2) transferable English courses and one (1) transferable math course early in their academic careers.
Second Step
The UC gives high priority to students that complete major coursework early in their academic career. Look at assist.org(opens in new window) for specific major requirements. Meet with a counselor to help you choose a major if you are undecided.
Third Step
Complete 60 UC transferable semester units with a minimum 2.4 grade point average (2.8 for non-residents) for minimum eligibility. The GPA for admission can be significantly higher due to the applicant pool. Along with math and English, and your major coursework, you are required to complete four courses in at least two of the following areas:
- Art/Humanities
- Social/Behavioral Sciences
- Physical/Biological Sciences
Fourth Step
Fifth Step
