Art Form Details

• Poetry
  Length of poem(s) is 2 pages maximum; however, if your work doesn't meet submission guidelines for stylistic reasons, please let us know. Please attach word processing document. Do not cut and paste work in the body of your email.
• Art/ Photo/Comics
  300 dpi minimum
  If you are submitting a 3D artwork, please submit pictures from multiple angles.
  If you are submitting a painting or drawing, please make sure to submit a high-quality photograph free of obstructions. The best way to get a good photo of your art is to place your artwork on a flat surface, be sure there is proper lighting, and photograph it from above. Please visit How to Photograph Artwork or How to Photograph Your Art if you need help properly photographing your art.
• Fiction and Creative Nonfiction
  There is a 3500-word limit per story with a 3-story maximum. If your story is less than 500 words, you may submit five maximum. Please attach a word processing document (not a pdf), which needs to be double spaced unless it interferes with your stylistic choices. Do not cut and paste work in the body of your email.
• Music
  If file is under 15MB upload mp3 or mp4 through submission form. If above 15MB provide links from soundcloud, YouTube, or Google Drive in the form field below the file upload section. Mixtapes and albums are also accepted. We may select various songs from an album to create a cul-de-sac playlist.
• Video
  You may also submit videos of music, short films, skits, performing arts, ASL performances, and animations. These will be published using QR codes.

General Details

• Submissions are open to COC students only with a valid student ID.
• You must limit the total size of your attachments to 15MB. If you go over the 15MB limit there is a good chance that your attachment won't be received.
• Please use standard fonts, such as Times New Roman and Arial (12-point font size); if not, please indicate why. Please understand that the magazine will be published using a unifom font. We ask that you follow the conventions of Standard English unless otherwise indicated for stylistic purposes.
