The LVN to RN "Advanced Placement" program at College of the Canyons is designed to provide an LVN with the education required to qualify for licensure as an RN.

Projected Progression of Courses for Spring/Summer 2025 Cohort (tentative - 20 students)
Tentative Summer Session Dates April 14, 2025 - August 9, 2025
Nursing 109 - Spring 2025 (First 8 weeks)
TBD - 3 days a week (1 lecture day and 2 clinical days) TENTATIVE
**Upon Successful Completion of Nursing 109, student will continue to Nursing 126**
Nursing 126 - Summer 2025 (Second 6 weeks)
TBD - 4 days a week (2 lecture days and 2 clinical days)
Nursing 234 - Fall 2025 (8 weeks)
TBD (2 lecture days and 1 clinical day)
Nursing 240 - Spring 2026 (16 weeks)
TBD (1 lecture day and 1 clinical day)
**Upon Successful Completion of courses listed above along with all degree requirements students would complete the LVN to RN Associate Degree of Nursing Science program in Spring 2026**
Correspondence Timeline for Spring/Summer 2025 LVN-RN Application Process:
- NOTE - Status updates emailed by February 13, 2025 status updates will be sent out via COC student email ONLY!
- February 26, 2025 - ATI TEAS TEST DATE here at COC (invitation only) or deadline for Official submission of ATI TEAS results (first attempt only of Version 7 released June 3, 2022).
- Late February 2025 to early March 2025 - Acceptances to the LVN-RN program will be sent via COC email.
- March 7, 2025 - SAVE THE DATE - If accepted, mandatory LVN-RN Student Orientation.
NOTE - February 1 , 2025 - Fall 2025 - RN application cycle will open. Please follow the Nursing Program Application Checklist - SUMMER step-by-step if you choose to apply to the RN, 2 year program. The next LVN_RN application will open January 2, 2026 - January 31, 2026 for the Spring/Summer 2026 LVN_RN selection.
