Cyber Security Month

October 2023

As you know, October is ALWAYS the spookiest month of the year-- this year is no exception! College of the Canyons will be revamping our Cybersecurity festivities to not only make you aware of changes YOU can make to be more secure, but also to explain why cybersecurity is so important! The Infrastructure and Information Security Group (IIS) will be offering weekly FLEX workshops on a variety of important topics and we have the return of our Phishing Tournament for both Employees and Students! (More information on rules and prizes to come)

Phising Tournament

Open to ALL Students, Faculty, and Staff. 

With October being Cybersecurity awareness month, the Infrastructure and Information Security (IIS) department is up to our old tricks again! Throughout the month, the IIS team will be actively sending Phishing emails to District employees and students! The treat for you is, each accurately reported Phishing email will earn you points towards prizes. IIS will ALSO be hosting 3 different Security sessions this month, attending a session earns you 2 points EACH for up to 6 points total!

• Employees with the MOST points for the Month October will be up for the following prizes!
  • 1^st Place – Phishing Trophy and a $25 Amazon GC
  • 2^nd Place – Phishing Trophy and a $10 Amazon GC
  • 3^rd Place – Phishing Trophy
• Falling for a Phishing email – FREE Training!

Tournament is running NOW and goes until October 31^st , no registration required. Winners will be announced November 4^th. We will ALSO be running the same competition for our students as well.
