The Santa Clarita Community College District takes the well-being of our students and employees very seriously. As a member of our college community, it is everyone's responsibility to uphold a safe and hospitable learning and working environment and to prepare for when situations arise that requires action, whether in an emergency situation or witnessing misconduct.
For instance, as a faculty member, you are the most likely to witness or receive reports of sexual harassment and sexual violence from our students. It is imperative that all employees receive enhanced training which, at a minimum, includes the requirements for proper reporting of sexual harassment and/or violence and information about the Districts responsibilities for responding to such reports.
Further, as a faculty member, you are the most likely to report an emergency situation on campus. To support the safety of everyone on campus during an emergency situation, all employees need comprehensive training on how to evaluate and respond properly to a variety of scenarios (fire, electrical malfunctions, suspicious activity, etc.).
The following three (3) trainings are short web-based courses delivered directly from Workplace Answers which are interactive and contain many challenging and interesting real-life work situations:
- Unlawful Harassment Prevention for Higher Education
- Preventing Discrimination and Sexual Violence (Title IX)
