- Paralegals assist attorneys in resolving lawsuits. They may not provide legal services directly to the public, except as permitted by law.
- Paralegals investigate facts of a case; interview clients and witnesses; perform legal research; draft pleadings, deposition notices, subpoenas, motions, briefs, discovery and other legal documents; organize and manage files, documents, and exhibits; file documents with federal and state courts; and assist at hearings, arbitrations, mediations, administrative proceedings, closings and trials.
- Paralegals may not provide legal services directly to the public, except as permitted by law. Students must take at least nine semester credits or the equivalent of legal specialty courses through sychronous instruction.

    Students must submit official transcripts for all colleges/universities attended.
    
    Students with less than 60 semester units through transfer must submit high school transcripts.

    $277.50 per quarter unit including the 25% COC tuition scholarship.
    
    Standard tuition rate $370 p/quarter unit.

Bachelor of Science Paralegal Studies

Costs Undergraduate Tuition: $277.50 p/quarter unit
Format Accelerated 1 Course Per Month (4-Weeks); Courses meeting 2 nights per week and 2 Saturdays per month (10 onsite meetings p/month) at COC/UCEN.
Scholarships COC Tuition Scholarship: 25% scholarship per class, per month; Students save $407 per class by taking NU classes onsite at the COC/UCEN location.
Units 180 quarter units are required to earn a bachelor’s degree
General Education CSU or IGETC GE Certifications are highly recommended to meet general education (GE) requirements. Additional GE coursework may be needed in the absence of CSU/IGETC GE Certification. 69 Semester Units Minimum Required.
